In this method, you will be trapping the hairs using a thread loop and pull it quickly to get rid of the hair. The advantage of this method is that you will not be seeing any hair growth for the next 10 to 14 days. For beginners, this method can be time-consuming but once you get used to it, you can do this in as short as 5 to 10 minutes.
Tweezing: tweezing is a procedure that involves the plucking of the upper lip hair using a pair of tweezers. This procedure can be painful at first but not as much once you get used to it. Aside from that, tweezing is not advisable if you are dealing with excessive amount of hair unless you can actually deal with the pain, as you will be working on a sensitive area of the skin.
Waxing: upper hair lip removal can be done using cold wax, although the use depends on the variety of wax that will be opted for. As for the basics, a layer of wax should be spread within the targeted area and a wax strip is placed over it and pulled quickly along with the hair. Hair growth will not be seen for at least three weeks.
Shaving: shaving the upper hair lip using a razor blade is considered as the quickest and simplest method. However, shaving is not recommended for women, as it could cause the hair to become thicker, stiffer and darker. Aside from that, shaving should be done on a regular basis.
Some of these methods can be painful, especially since the upper lip skin is quite sensitive. To reduce the pain, you can wash your face using lukewarm water first for 10 to 12 minutes before starting with the procedure. This is to open the hair follicles, thus making hair removal a lot easier. You can also consume OTC pain relievers at least 1 to 2 hours prior to the procedure to reduce the pain while removing the upper lip hair.
