How To Find Self Tanners Without DHA

We are all concerned with our safety and we should want to make sure that we are not putting anything on or in our bodies that is going to cause us any harm. Along with that, is we want to look good too.

There is a growing concern in the tanning world about the active ingredient in tanners; DHA. There are quite a few people that are looking for self tanners without DHA, but is it possible?

What is DHA? Dihydroxyacetone (DHA) is the active chemical used in tanners to make your skin bronzed. Currently, the verdict is still out for DHA. The US Food and Drug Administration have not approved the safety of DHA because it has been reported that DHA could have adverse affects on the body.

If you are concerned about your exposure to DHA, then I’m sure you want to find a product that does not contain it. Unfortunately, there are not those many to choose from. I did find a few on Amazon that I wanted to share with you that look to be pretty good.

One product that I found that had great reviews was Kardashian GlowTM “NATURAL” Bronzer. This tanner is DHA free, Hypoallergenic, Paraben Free, and Gluten Free. All of this makes it great for someone who has sensitive skin. After doing a considerable amount of research on the product I found out that it typically sells for $100+, but the price on Amazon is much lower than that. If you were to make a purchase I would do it from there.

Another product that is comparable to the Kardashian is the Australian Gold Facial Tanning Lotion. Again, this is DHA free, which meets the criteria of what we are looking for. Also, according to the company the tan can last up to 8 days. This is another product that has great reviews with a great price.

While the Kardashian tanner has a scent the Australian Gold is scent free. This could be a plus or minus depending on what you are looking for. I would say the only downfall of this product is that it is just made for the face, while the Kardashian can be used all over.

These are the two best self tanners without DHA on the market today. My personal favourite is the Kardashian because it can be used on the entire body, but if all you are looking for is a face lotion then the Australian Gold will work just fine.
