In conclusion, opting for a salon can be the smartest choice you can have for a wonderful glowing skin.
Airbrush Tanning Equipment
There are a many ways to get a tan without lying in the sun for hours on end. Airbrush tanning is one of the most popular ways. It’s fast and easy, and only requires a minimal amount of equipment. There are many airbrush tanning products, supplies, and kits available.
Airbrush tanning equipment is the most efficient and best system for sunless tanning. The airbrush tanning system sprays tanning solution all over your body to produce a gorgeous, golden glow.
The tanning solution used in airbrush tanning equipment is a natural derivative of sugar beets or sugar canes called DHA. DHA (Di-Hydroxyl-Acetone) is the active ingredient in sunless tanning products. It’s safe and FDA approved.
If you’ve no experience with an airbrush gun, then you’ll find this is an easy system.
Unlike most tanning systems which require an artistic flair, airbrush tanning has room for minor errors as you do not have to be exact in applying the tanning solution. Even beginners can do it. In fact, airbrush tanning basics start with a light application of tanning solution in even strokes about six inches away from your body. You overlap the strokes as you go. It’s important to be careful to not concentrate your spray in just one area at a time.
Airbrush tanning equipment offers the many benefits, starting with how easy it is to use.
A traditional system comes with an airbrush gun, tanning solution, and an air compressor. After you’ve selected a system to purchase, you can then tan at your convenience in the privacy of your home.
You’ll also be able to re-apply and touch up your tan as often as necessary, which is a huge advantage.
Another benefit of owning your own airbrush tanning equipment is you can easily build a small side business. Once you have your own tan, just call some friends over for a ‘Tanning Party’. You could provide the service to friends, family, neighbours and other people. From there you could easily build a strong customer base.
After practicing and promoting yourself, you can then offer your services as a mobile tanning business. Airbrush tanning equipment is being easy to use. It’s affordable and profitable if you steer your ambitions in that way.
About The Airbrushing Tanning Process
The airbrushing tanning is a process that makes the skin tan without being constantly exposed to dangerous ultraviolet rays, by making use of an airbrush. This airbrush is an air-operated device that simply sprays the paint towards the body, offering it a beautiful colour. The great thing about airbrushing tanning is that it is all safe for your skin and it does not have any harmful effects.
Airbrushing tanning is a great form of sunless tanning and it stimulates the appearance of a natural sun tan, as special tanning solutions were carefully selected in order to make this procedure the safest way to artificially tan.
It is commonly believed that sun exposure is very healthy especially for people that have acne problems, as sun diminishes the effects of the acne on the skin. But this is rather more dangerous; first of all, because you may get sun burns that affect the epidermis which is the first skin layer and secondly, because prolonged and constant sun exposure causes premature skin aging and in the worst cases, it may cause cancer.
Ultraviolet rays negatively affect the skin, but either because you don’t have time to stay in the sun that much in order to tan or because you care about your body’s health, you should opt for airbrushing tanning. This method is promoted by companies that also offer other tanning procedures, such as sun beds. Airbrushing tanning is very easy and fast, taking only a couple of moments to complete.
The best results that airbrushing tanning should offer you should be represented by healthy skin and a guarantee of 7 to 14 days lasting tanning glow, depending on how well you hold a tan and the way you respect the airbrushing tanning rules. It should also offer you customized formula for your skin type, even coverage and the most rapid results.
Airbrushing tanning should not be odorized, for a better skin health and protect it against premature wrinkles and skin aging. It should come with personalized service that offers you assistance and professional advice whenever you need.
However, in order to keep that natural tanning glow on your skin longer and to better protect your skin, you need to follow some rules. Never wear makeup or deodorant while being in an airbrushing tanning session as the special formula might not work on your skin. Always take a shower, exfoliate your skin and perhaps shave before tanning. For the best tanning results that last longer, you should wear loose fitting clothes after the tanning session.
A very important thing is that you should wait at least 8 hours before taking a shower. During these 8 hours, the tan will darken. After this, the first shower after the airbrushing tanning session should not be made with soap or other cosmetics. You should always apply moisturizer after tanning, as hydrated skin will keep the tan for a longer period of time.
Once you follow the rules related to airbrushing tanning, you should not worry that you will not have those horrible tanning stains on your skin and that you will always have a healthy skin.
Is An Airbrush Tan a Good Option for a Romantic Getaway?
If you’re getting ready for a romantic getaway with that special man in your life, definitely consider an airbrush tan to help make your skin look fresh and young throughout your trip. In fact, an airbrush tan is the fastest, safest, most worry-free and highly recommended method of tanning before a big event.
First of all, an airbrush tan can be the perfect way to liven up your look without skin damage and without a whole new wardrobe. In fact, it’s the perfect fashion accessory, wardrobe or not. It’s also a good method to consider for immediate, very natural looking results that you can build on by tanning naturally during your trip. Airbrush tanning is semi-permanent- and after it dries it will last 6-8 days. The colour doesn’t block UV light, which means that by the time it starts to fade, chances are that your natural tan will already have started to develop.
One of the best things about airbrush tanning is that you have the option of going in without a bathing suit. This means that there are no ugly tan lines to ruin the look of your pretty cruise dress or that sexy, animal-print lingerie you’ve got planned for night-time adventures. Your first shower after your tan should only be a rinse. Let the water run over your body until the runoff turns clear.
Lightly pat yourself dry to avoid splotching. If you accidentally use soap or cause streaking don’t worry. Rub a light self-tanner towelette over the areas until it evens out. Make sure the range of your towelette isn’t too dark, or you could cause a differentiation in your colour. This quick maintenance tip could also be used to refresh your tan in the middle of your trip, if you find it starting to fade.
The best thing about airbrush tanning is the natural, even glow it gives to your face. Letting a professional handle this area, especially before a romantic getaway, is highly recommended since other self tanners can streak or prove too dark. Your face will also be the first place to fade so use a lower SPF sunscreen during your trip to allow for some natural tanning to keep up your look.
Keep out of direct sunlight and remember that UV rays go through clouds, so you can still get a tan, or even get burned, on an overcast day. DHA colouring does not protect your skin from UV light so always wear sunscreen when you go outdoors.
A spray tan is the perfect way to avoid all the negative UV aspects of traditional tanning methods and still get gorgeous colour without tan lines! It’s a great option for an unexpected weekend trip or for those who aren’t sure they want to commit to anything too permanent.
As one of the popular methods offered at tanning salons, spray tanning involves stepping into a booth with as much or as little clothing as you are comfortable with.
Tan spray, unlike other sunless tanners, provides a smoother and more natural look. Because of recent growing consumer interest, you can find high quality and lasting options at any drug store.

Airbrush Tanning F.A.Q.
The body is gently airbrushed with a gentle spray mist, using a UV free sunless tanning solution. The active ingredient in the solution is a colourless sugar, which has been FDA approved for more than 30 years, which naturally darkens the skin. This special formula works by interacting with the natural amino acids in the dead surface cells found in the outermost layer of the skin. This produces a colour change, which resembles a UV based tan. As the dead skin cells gradually wear off, the colour slowly fades, just like a genuine sun tan. This does not cause damage to the underlying living layers of skin.
1. Is it safe?
The active ingredient DHA (Dihydroxyacetone) has been approved for cosmetic applications for 30 years. Most Sunless and bronzing tanning lotions use DHA. People who have DHA allergies should test their skin first before using.
2. How long will my sunless tanning session take?
It takes about 20 to 30 minutes for the entire process to be completed. The first 10 minutes cover application of the tanning solution to your skin. It takes approximately 5 to 10 more minutes for complete drying.
3. How should I prepare for my sunless tanning session?
Exfoliate your body, and shower before your session. Mixing sugar or baking soda with your choice of body gel works well to exfoliate your skin. Make sure that there are no oils, lotions, perfumes, or make up on your skin.
4. What should I do after my session?
Wear loose-fitting, dark clothing, for at least 6 hours. Do not shower, work out, or do any activity that causes sweating for the same period of time. This allows the solution optimal time to react with the amino acids in the skin, encouraging a smooth even tan.
5. How long will it last?
Your radiant tan typically lasts 5 to 7 days. The immediate bronzer gives you an instant off the beach tone. The colour intensifies rapidly, virtually doubling in the first 30 minutes. The intensity, essentially, doubles in the next four hours. Most of the bronzer washes off with your first bath or shower.
6. How often do I need to do it?
That’s up to you. Once a week will give you colour. Twice a week gets you quite dark. Some people want to be very dark, and do it even more often. We recommend that if you do tan weekly, that every 5 weeks you allow your skin to rest free for 10 days. This helps eliminate any old tan and prepares your skin for the new tan.
7. Will I turn orange or streak?
No, you won’t. This system is the most advanced sunless-tanning method on the market. Sunless tanning has come a long way from those old days. Streaking will occur if you do not follow the guidelines after your tanning session. No tight fitting clothing, any jeans, and crossing of legs can leave an uneven tan. Sweating or getting wet will also cause an uneven tan. Please note that this is not the technicians fault, to have a tan fixed may result in an additional charge. Please follow all guidelines to prevent an uneven tan, we want you happy and mostly we want you to come back to us for your future tan!
8. What about allergic reactions?
If you have hypersensitive skin, or are allergic to sunless-tanning products, please proceed with caution. You should check with your physician prior to using this or any other sunless tanning product. We have had very few reports of reactions of any sorts, but let’s play it safe.
9. Are there ways to enhance the results?
Using a high quality moisturizer frequently after the tanning session will help prolong the tan. You should not apply any moisturizers or lotions to the skin on the day of your session. Certain types of moisturizers or lotions applied during this period could cause streaking. Shimmer lotions, and cosmetic bronzers can all be applied to enhance your radiant tan.
10. Can I tan in a UV tanning bed on the same day I get airbrushed?
A number of people have found that tanning with UV rays and the sunless tanning solution actually provides a better overall tan. If you plan to do both, in the same day, we recommend that you tan in the tanning bed first. Clean all lotion, or perspiration from skin, before being airbrushed.
I usually break out in freckles when I try to tan. Will the tanning solution make my freckles come out too?
There is nothing in the tanning solution that will cause more freckles to break out. In fact, in most cases, freckles and blemishes will become less pronounced because the lighter skin areas will darken and reduce the colour differentiation between the blemishes and the rest of your skin. However if you have skin damage, you may noticed those areas could appear darker after your tanning session, due to the texture of those areas being rough. Using Vitamin A products help to eliminate those areas.
11. How many times do I need to airbrush tan to achieve the colour I want?
You will be tan after one session, but it may take several sessions to achieve your desired colour depth. Once you reach the colour you desire, you should be able to maintain it by tanning every three to four days.
12. How long do I have to wait after my session before I can shower?
We recommend that you wait at least 6 hours after tanning to give the solution enough time to fully set. Allowing product to develop on skin overnight is ideal. If you shower earlier, you may diminish the intensity of the tan. When you do shower, the initial tan created by the water-soluble bronzer will wash off, but your long-lasting sunless tan will remain.
